Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on Monday reiterated his commitment to Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity of 86,600 square kilometers, saying it also includes Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).

“86,600 square kilometers also include Nagorno-Karabakh,” he told a news conference. “Meanwhile, we state that the issue of the rights and security of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh should be discussed within the Baku-Stepanakert format.”

Asked directly whether the Armenian government recognizes Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, Pashinyan replied that no matter what his government says, “all [previous Armenian] governments have recognized the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.”

“The Republic of Armenia is ready to recognize the territorial integrity [of Azerbaijan] within 86,600 square kilometers,” he reaffirmed.
