Pashinyan: Artsakh’s participation in peace talks discussed at Vienna meeting with Aliyev

2 April 2019, 11:51 - NovostiNK
Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan positively assesses the first formal meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held in Vienna on 29 March under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group.

In a Facebook live video, the Armenian PM called for adopting a new approach towards the bilateral meetings, not seeking ‘winners or losers’ at the meetings. “I believe it is very important that the parties be guided by this logic in theor comments, remaining fully committed to the truth and the spirit of the negotiation process,” he stressed.

Pashinyan said that they also discussed the involvement of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) in the peace talks, with the Armenian side presenting strong arguments, but failed to reach an agreement on the issue.

“Does this mean that the issue is no longer on the agenda. No, of course! This means we should continue discussions on the issue,” he said.
